Wired65 is a collaboration of leaders in a 26-county bi-state region working to connect economic and workforce development toward creating a prosperous and thriving economy. It was created through a WIRED grant from the U.S. Department of Labor -- Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development. The Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board was one of 39 regions nationwide to receive one of these grants with the goal of transforming economies through an emphasis on sectors and talent development. On behalf of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and working with Indiana colleagues, Wired65 invested in a variety of initiatives to connect students to careers, train individuals for higher-skilled jobs and to connect the region in an unprecedented way and work toward the common goal of developing, retaining and attracting individuals who can drive a 21st Century Economy.
